After lessons on economics, the Fourth Graders created their "own businesses ".





Homecoming week starts Monday. Here is the schedule for the dress up days. Monday is Rockstar Day (wear the shirt of your favorite band or singer). Tuesday is Tacky Tourist Day. Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday. Thursday is Anything But a Backpack (bring something out of the ordinary to carry your books in), and Friday is Bobcat Apparel Day.


Reminder- early dismissal tomorrow (Nov 22). 1:50 at the Grade School and 2:00 at the High School.

We would like to introduce you to Mr. Torbeck who teaches science classes at the Jr./Sr High School. He has been with the district for 6 years.
Here is some information for you to get to know him.
Family: “I have a wife, Jennifer, that I have been married to for 24 years this December. She works at Effingham Tools and Machinery in Effingham. My daughter Alexis is 23. She is a RN at the Lutheran Care Center in Effingham. Evelyn is getting ready to graduate here at BCHS and go to Lakeland college to also become a RN. We are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Augsburg, Illinois.”
Mr. Torbeck's favorite food is barbeque- chicken, turkey and brisket and his favorite sports teams are the St. Louis Blues and the St. Louis Cardinals. In his free time, he enjoys bowling, going to concerts and hockey games, sim racing on the computer and trying to play guitar.

Staff Spotlight: We would like to introduce you to Mrs. Lorton who teaches First Grade. She has been with the district for 25 years. Here is some information for you to get to know her.
Family: “I have been married to my husband , Clint for 28 years. We have 3 amazing kids Haven, Sydney, and Gage.”
Mrs. Lorton’s favorite food is dessert, her favorite color is red, she enjoys all kinds of music, and her favorite sports team is the St. Louis Cardinals. In her free time, she enjoys sewing and reading a good book.

The Fifth Graders experimented with mixtures, partner work, and a game of in-and-out in PE.








Adam Stuckemeyer participated in the National 4H Skillathon. He earned High Individual Evaluation and with his team, they earned High Team Overall, High Team Evaluation, High Team Identification, and Second High Team Quality Assurance. Congratulations to Adam and his 4H team.


Congratulations to Hadley Hagler for being chosen as an Up & Coming Leader in Effingham County. Hadley was selected due to her tremendous community efforts and academic successes. Beecher City is proud of you.

Mrs. Drake's Spanish classes celebrated Day of the Dead by making in memory boxes and selling chupa chups.






Alexziah Hagler was selected as the September winner of the Hall of Fame Award for Effingham County. He was recognized Tuesday for this award. Great job, Alexziah!

Tomorrow the senior class is having a blood drive from 1-6 PM at the high school. The bus will be in the back of the school. If you plan on donating, please make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome. Mention a senior's name, and they will be entered in a drawing. The goal is 20 donors and the senior class will receive a donation to go towards the senior trip.


The senior class is selling Bobcat apparel. Order forms are due Nov. 28th. Contact a senior, Mrs. Summers, or Mr. Tarr to order.



Mrs. Hicks and the art students were busy painting windows at the First State Bank of Beecher City and Rhodes Automotive Service for Christmas.

Ms. McGuire's favorite food is anything Mexican or Italian, her favorite color is pink, she enjoys listening to Country Music (I am a George Strait fanatic), and her favorite sports person is Simone Biles. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and shopping.

The Fourth Grade Students visited the Beecher City Veterans' Memorial today. Thank you to all who served!






The Grade School Students attended Elf Jr. The Musical today. Thank you to everyone who rounded up at Niemergs earlier this year. Those proceeds helped pay for tickets.
