📚 Beat the Summer Slide with Reading BINGO!

Did you know that research shows students can lose up to 2 months of reading progress over the summer? Studies find that between 62–73% of elementary students lose reading skills over the break, and children in grades 3–5 can lose about 20% of the reading gains they made during the school year. Over time, this adds up — and it makes it harder for students to hit the ground running each fall. LearnerHorizoneducationcenters

The good news? It doesn't take much to make a big difference! Students who read over the break generally perform better in reading assessments when they return to school. Learner

That's why we're sharing this Summer Reading BINGO card — a fun, low-pressure way to keep your child reading all summer long! Whether they're reading to a pet, visiting the library, or building a blanket fort with a good book, every square they complete is a step toward starting the new school year strong. 🌟

🎉 Here's something exciting — students who complete their BINGO card and bring it back on the first day of school will receive a special surprise from Mrs. House! All you need is a completed row, column, or diagonal to qualify. Print it out, hang it on the fridge, and let the reading adventures begin!

We can't wait to hear about the books your children discover this summer and celebrate all of our readers when we're back together in the fall. 💛

Lots of improvements are taking place this summer at the high school. We will be giving the two science labs, the ag room, and another classroom a facelift. As well adding a ramp in the east hallway. Stay tuned for updates!
