Altamont Boys Varsity Shootout February 15, 2020
A group of Effingham area business leaders recently presented Paeton Underwood from Beecher City High School the Dec. award for Mathematic/Scientific scholastic achievement known as Hall of FAME. Paeton was selected by Beecher City staff based on preset standards.
Congratulations to the CHBC basketball teams! The boys had a big win over Oblong to take 7th place in the Dieterich Holiday Tournament. The girls lost a tough championship game in overtime to bring home 2nd place at the Dieterich Holiday Tournament! Great job players, cheerleaders and coaches!

The 2020-21 Illinois State Scholars represent approximately the top ten percent of high school seniors from 726 high schools across the state. Illinois State Scholars are chosen based on a combination of exemplary ACT or SAT test scores and sixth semester class rank. This year, ISAC is celebrating all State Scholars with two videos (https://bit.ly/2LftKqW) that highlight some of the state’s exceptional students.
Principal Deadmond said, “Beecher City CUSD # 20 is extremely proud of the hard work and dedication put forth by Paeton and Audra. These two young women are outstanding leaders in our school and will prove to be outstanding leaders in the community in the years to come.
