A group of Effingham area business leaders recently presented Carsen Burks of Beecher City High School the Oct. award for Mathematic/Scientific scholastic achievement known as Hall of FAME, which represents Fantastic Area Mathematicians (Scientists) Extraordinaire. Carsen was selected by her school staff based on preset standards for her high academic achievement. Presenting the award are Pat Gebben of Merz Heating and Air Conditioning, Carsen, and Brian Henning of Full Circle Realty. Carsen plans to continue her education & then do biological research.

October 21, 2020 On October 22, November 25, December 18, and December 21 the district will dismiss at 1:50 PM grade school and 2:00 PM Jr./Sr. high. The 1- hour early dismissal was for our regular 3:00 PM dismissal time. We have updated our website. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Beecher City FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Organization is selling Pies and Cookies from Neimergs from now until November 17th! Pies will be delivered on Wednesday November 25th! The Illinois State Board of Education Nutrition Department is excited to share that the U.S. Department of Agriculture just announced waiver extensions that will allow schools to operate Summer Meals programs through the end of School Year 2020-21, offering free meals to students. This changes the expiration from Dec. 31, 2020, to June 30, 2021.

Parent-teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 21 and Thursday, October 22 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for junior high and high school students. To schedule parent-teacher conferences, please contact the high school office by phone at (618) 487-5100. Conferences will be for a duration of ten minutes and be scheduled every fifteen minutes. Please designate if you would like to do your conference remotely over the phone or in-person. One family member per student will be permitted in the building for the conference. This is to keep the number of people entering the building at a minimum.
